Nine clean, comfortable lakeside cabins on Poplar Lake near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. We are located mid-trail on the Gunflint Trail, 31 miles from Grand Marais, and only 3.5 miles (walking distance) to Canada.

Rockwood Lodge and Outfitters offers a variety of cabins to accommodate your needs, whether you’re a family of four or a group of friends. All of our cabins are nestled in the heart of the beautiful Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), providing you with stunning views and easy access to all the outdoor activities the area has to offer.
Amenities:
As with all our cabins, you get a canoe, charcoal and gas grills, picnic table, full kitchen, bathroom with shower, fresh linens and towels (papertowels are not provided). Our cabins have high-speed WiFi and each kitchen has essential cookware/cooking equipment, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (uses 12 cup paper filters, a few are provided), glasses, mugs, dishes and silverware so you can just bring food. Or better, enjoy one of the great restaurants on the Gunflint Trail!
Activities:
- There are endless opportunities for outdoor activities in the BWCAW, including canoeing, fishing, hiking, and wildlife watching.
- We also offer a variety of rentals, so you can explore the lake at your own pace.
